Riksdagens näringsutskott has rejected the motion that, among other things, concerns Siljansgasen, Igrene states in a press release.This was done with the justification that the issue is already being handled within the Government's ongoing processes.The gas exploration company Igrene points out that it is normal for individual motions to be rejected when the matter is already being prepared within Regeringskansliet.It is also pointed out that the committee reproduces the inquiry's assessment that legislative amendments would be required to enable the extraction of natural gas, etc., for the needs of total defense, and that: "If the Government, for preparedness reasons, nevertheless finds it desirable to enable the extraction of coal, oil and natural gas, the most logical conclusion should be that the ban from 2022 be repealed. That enables commercial operators to make the necessary investments”.Igrene's CEO Annette Blyhammar comments: “Today's report is in line with the fact that the Government is further preparing the supply preparedness issue within Regeringskansliet. We are following the process closely and continue to develop our industrial initiatives in line with the company's strategy”.It is also added that any potential Riksdag decision linked to Siljansgasen does not affect the company's ongoing operations, and that work continues as planned while following the continued handling of the matter within the framework of Sweden's supply preparedness.
